In our quest to create truly unique timepieces for one particular series or collection, or for Stuhrling as a whole, we can sometimes surprise ourselves. Welcome Stuhrling Originals Axis. Right on the first glance you can tell its a Metro Series member by the case design. Tank-shaped and larger in width than in height, the Axis stands out from all its colleagues, but it shares their larger than life attitude. This is a watch to be worn by the strong and confident, and by those aiming for the top with every intention of getting there with style. .

The Wild Axis features a bold, very unique skeletonized rectangular (east/west)316L surgical grade stainless steel curved casewith satin finished bezel. The rectangular dial displayscase coordinatingindex markers at all hour positions alternating with cut-aways that reveal the movement beneath. Its sunray pattern leaves little behind, but whats left form baton indices that function as hour markers. The watch has an exhibition case back with hand engraved skeletonized movement, blued steel screws and black skeletonized rotor. Black lug nuts appear on top and bottom of corner posts.The Stuhrling Original shows up near 1:00. Luminous hour and minute hands and a seconds hand deliver the time at a glance.

A comfortable and bold red rubber strap adds a distinctive sport aesthetic to the design. The buckle clasp is decorated with the Stuhrling Original logo secures the watch to your wrist.

The watches I wanted were on sale at amazon and I contacted Dream to see if they could beat the price. They did so by a considerable amount, and allowed me to take advantage of their overnight shipping promotion. Good, honest, and non-automated or outsourced e-mail communication followed by prompt shipping. At 5:30pm, having received the UPS tracking info, I realized I had messed up my zip code -- I switched two numbers. I called Dream and they tracked down the truck taking the day's packages to the shipping center and applied a new label. Watches arrived by 10am the next day, new in box with all documentation, all stickers (i.e. protective ones on the back and face) in place, obviously factory-fresh. So not only was the price here considerably less than amazon, I received personalized customer service to resolve the zip code error I made -- something that Amazon would not be able to do because of its huge size and the way it encourages the use of standardized electronic forms to resolve all customer service issues. In other words, this is a reliable business and a good site -- as well as a business with heart. -- Michael
